This is a commissioned assemblage piece for a friend's mother, who wanted to buy this, but I had promised it to a teacher and friend of mine. So, I set about making another one for her, this time with a more New England vibe.
Cigar box, paperclay, roots, twine, snail shell, lace, antique book cover, antique bottles, cicada shell, red string, yellow rose petals, deer tooth, wooden stand, coral beans, paper.
I ended up having to change it after finding out that my friend's mother is terrified of insects, but I like the original and don't have photos of the redo (I took out the cicada and strings, and added a keyhole plate with strings on the other side), so this is what you get.
